The crystal engraving technique requires great accuracy and refinement. The grinding wheel slightly scratches the crystal with pumice stones of different densities in order to obtain different transparencies and effects. For artistic engravings, the design is first hand-drawn onto each piece.
Crystal grinding is a very ancient production process that can also be used to decorate rock crystal. It consists of several steps and different rotating tools that must be used wisely.
The designs are extremely diverse, from the “classics” up to the most contemporary ones, in which the crystal master unleashes its creative flair to express unique interpretations.
The sand-etching technique emphasises each design with the greatest of refinement; the engravings make use of different depths and opacities to obtain striking decorations.
