The crystal of Colle Val d'Elsa:
precious roots in 14th-century glass production
in Tuscany
Our story.
As far back as 1820 in Colle Val d’Elsa, thanks to the wooded terrain and the rushing waters, crystal working began, becoming a distinctive feature of the territory and leading generations of master glassblowers and engravers.
The Duccio di Segna crystal company began operations in 1984, when Vasco Conti brought his decades of experience in the production of crystal to this project, both in Italy and internationally. His detailed knowledge of this sector allowed Duccio di Segna, now in its 35th year of business, to become one of the most important players in the national crystal industry.
All our products are made from 24% Pb crystal, an extremely pure crystal that acquires its true value when at a material temperature of 1150 degrees. Our master glassblowers create pieces that are always unique in their beauty and quality.
In order to achieve such a wide range of products, our master glassblowers apply the most varied artisanal and semi-artisanal techniques on a daily basis, coupling them with the key ingredient, true passion.
An indispensable element to ensure that every item that leaves our factory, a Duccio di Segna item, is truly unique, whatever it may be.
