The Crystal Well
History
The three characters seated around the table all had their own problems to solve, but they all coalesced into a common , the creation of a full-size crystal well.
Giampiero Muzzi, the photographer, wanted to see his idea realized; Duccio Santini, the architect, wanted to give his own design response to the idea; and Vasco Conti, the owner of Duccio di Segna glassworks, wanted to demonstrate the capabilities and potential of his company. Three bets in one, quite a challenge for everyone. Things went on through endless discussions, constructive second thoughts, trials and modifications. Then the final choices bore fruit. The various components of the well became reality. Vasco had had a room made especially dedicated to the crystal well that was immediately called the drawing room, In fact, Duccio traced directly on the wall the forms that were gradually refined and defined, to be translated into surprising reality by Vasco’s mastery. The well was growing almost day by day, and Giampiero witnessed the event by imprinting its images in his camera, inventing angles and clever choices of lighting. Now this beautiful adventure has come to an end, the three characters have achieved their goals and are no longer sitting around the table, but are happily walking around the magnificent well, which has now become an art installation that cannot be told but only admired.
